Maybe it was Utah…

As the old riddle says:stives1

As I was going to St. Ives
I met a man with seven wives
Every wife had seven sacks
In every sack was seven cats
And every cat had seven kits
Kits, cats, sacks, wives
How many were going to St. Ives?

The answer, for those math-challenged readers, is, of course, one.  The story-teller is the only one going to St. Ives.

Why the riddle?  Think of it as an allegory for the power of BNI networking, and you’ll see why.  Imagine the riddle goes something like this:

As I was going to St. Ives
I visited my local BNI chapter
There I met with seven members
Every member had seven employees
Each employee had seven co-workers
And every co-worker had seven friends
Friends, co-workers, employees, members
How many people could hear about my business?

The answer to THAT riddle, you might be surprised to learn, is 2,401!  And all that for spending an hour and a half of your time, and the cost of a breakfast or lunch.  Just another example of how BNI and Business Power Network can help your bottom line!
