Coming up next Thursday, July 26th, our very own Cary Prater will be applying for his Chrome Dome membership card as he “Shaves To Save” for the American Cancer Society. Not only will he go cue ball for a cause, but he will do so in style, having raised $1,355.00. Which, by the way, makes Cary the #1 fundraiser for this event! So make sure you get out and support him at the Ramada Oasis Convention Center, 2546 N. Glenstone in Springfield. For more information, visit the website.

Cary’s fellow employee at Ollis, and a former BPNer herself, Brittany Waugh is helping to put on the “Not So Newlywed Game”, with proceeds benefitting the Ozarks Counseling Center. Not So Newlywed Game 2012 This event is also at the Oasis Convention Center, on August 10th, and in the past has featured our very own Steve & Lisa Cox as contestants. For more information, see this PDF, or visit OzarksCounselingCenter.org.

Finally, don’t forget that the American Cancer Society Cattle Baron’s Ball is getting closer! The big day is August 18th, at the Darr Agricultural Center, and volunteers are still needed. If you are considering donating some of your time to this very worthy cause, download the Volunteer Form, fill it out, send it in, and feel good about yourself! We typically have a very large chapter representation at the event, including 2012 Committee Chairs Cary Prater, David Martin, and Jeff Widmeyer.

That’s it for this edition of the Nice Department; if you have upcoming events that you’d like to see mentioned in this space, please let me know!
